Position: Trade Development Manager
Reporting to: Country Manager
Objectives
To contribute positively in business development
through sales development
primarily in the areas of Trade Marketing, Key
Account Management (KAM) and
Merchandising.
Main Responsibilities
1. Planning and co-ordination of trade and promotional
activities with Key Accounts.
2. Management and negotiation of key account terms
through distribution partners
3. Management of 2 appointed distributors for
Modern & Traditional Trade.
4. Expand Brand presence in Key Accounts
5. Execution of agreed initiatives with key customers
6. Manage Key Accounts through distribution partners
and build strong working relationship with customers
6. Ensuring trade terms are in compliance
7. Resolve financial dispute/discrepancies
8. Ensure agreed planogram/merchandising standards
are maintained through regular store visit
9. Growth of market shares
12. Strategising of Key Account and Channel Development
14. Liaise closely with marketing on trade promotions,
launch executions and keeping abreast of market
intelligence
15. Responsible for budget compliance and inventory
forecasts
16. Ensuring effective distribution of products
and familiarity with all the different distribution
and operational processes
17. Able to motivate the distribution partners’
team of merchandisers to ensure good visibility
of products in store
Performance Criteria
Quantitative:
1. Product In-Market Sales Volume/Value Objectives
2. Market Shares of Company products
3. Operating Results
- Weighted distribution objectives
- Trade fund control
The Successful Applicant
A recognised university degree with at least 3-5
years key account experience in the FMCG industry,
ideally gained within a global/regional brand
name. You will possess pragmatic operational management
skills, be a team player with excellent presentation
and communication skills and is dynamic and results-oriented.
You will also need to be highly independent and
posses strong leadership skills.
Other Skills
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Ability to use and analyse AC Nielsen
market research data and Personal Advisor applications
• Category Management – some experience
with AC Nielsen Space management would be an asset
